Aspen Avionics Continues to Expand Approved Model List for Evolution Flight Display

Aspen Avionics has added several more Class II airplanes, including some heavier twins, to its FAA Approved Model List Supplemental Type Certificate (AML-STC) for the EFD1000 Primary Flight Displays (PFDs). These latest additions include the Beechcraft Baron 58-series, and a subset of the Aerostar 600-and Twin Commander 500-series twin-engine airplanes.

Aero-TV Explores Recent Changes At Chelton

As noted a few weeks ago, there have been big changes at Chelton recently. ANN's Aero-TV crews caught up with Chelton's Gordon Pratt at the 2008 AEA Convention and got a little more detail about this means. As previously detailed, the two business units within Cobham's Avionics and Surveillance Division, Chelton Flight Systems (CFS) and S-TEC, are to be merged to create an "avionics center of excellence" based in Mineral Wells, TX. The move is part of Cobham’s drive to develop a fully integrated cockpit and improve its customer focus.

High school students seeking an aerospace career can now reach for the stars at the new Central Florida Aerospace Academy.

All Polk County high school students may apply and, if selected, complete their high school degree through the academy's program.

Located at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, the academy resulted from a collaboration among Gulf Coast Avionics, Kathleen High School, Polk Community College, Traviss Career Center and the University of South Florida Polytechnic.
