Mental Health Court participant honored

John Moore, a candidate for graduation from Ada County's Mental Health Court Program, will be named Rehab of the Year by the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Region 3 at noon, Thursday, July 10 at the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, 1720 Westgate Drive, Boise.

Moore entered the program 20 months ago and will graduate July 31. Through his work in the program, Moore has battled addictions and overcome challenges created by his mental illness.

Comedian opens mental health centre

A new £70 million mental health centre has been opened. The 137-bed UK Centre for Mental Health in Edgbaston, Birmingham, is one of the largest facilities of its kind in Europe, Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust said. The centre, which provides single en-suite rooms, therapeutic activities and psychological treatments, was opened by Health Secretary Alan Johnson and comedian Jo Brand, a former psychiatric nurse.
