Fined pharmacists gave wrong drug to patient who died

A PHARMACIST gave the wrong drug to a man with liver cancer who later died, a court has heard. Pharmacist Juliet Hines, 41, and colleague Georgina Mahoney, 33, appeared before Prestatyn Magistrates Court yesterday and admitted making mistakes which meant the anti-depressant Sertraline was given to Alan Clarke who was seriously ill with liver problems.

Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Adds Clinical Immunology Research Program

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation is adding a new research program focusing on studying and treating patients with autoimmune disorders including multiple sclerosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.

The Clinical Immunology Research Program will be headed by Judith James. The new program is part of a larger initiative at OMRF to increase translational research - work that focuses on transforming discoveries in the laboratory into new diagnostics and treatment for human disease.
