FDA has asked Cephalon to implement enhancements to the risk management program for Fentora before the agency can approve the drug for noncancer breakthrough pain. Fentora is an opioid that is already marketed as a treatment for cancer.

UK firms should put workable processes to prevent misuse of data when trying to reduce risk to information storage, it has been claimed. Ian Fraser, marketing manager at the Institute of Risk Management, said processes need to include provisions for remote workers and contractors as there are likely to be security risks outside the main function of a firm.

Nearly two-thirds of the 32 buy-side firms surveyed by consultancy Tabb Group said the credit crunch has had a significant impact on their trading of over-the-counter derivatives, with 57% saying it has increased their focus on counterparty risk.
